Medical Inventi creates a research and development laboratory (laboratory of stem cell isolation and cell/tissue culture). Activity of laboratory will focus on the isolation of mesenchymal stem cells and stromal vascular fraction (SVF) from adipose tissue of various pet animals to be used in the treatment of veterinary patients. The laboratory will also provide services for veterinary clinics like long-term storage (banking) of isolated stem cells. Other activities of the laboratory will include the use of in vitro cellular models for preliminary evaluation of the biocompatibility of novel implantable biomaterials and for assessment of biological properties and cytotoxicity of new substances potentially useful in pharmaceutical industry (e.g. as antitumour, antibacterial drugs) and cosmetic industry (e.g. as compounds of creams possessing anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and UVB-protective properties).
